Public Hearing Notice
Please take notice that the City Council of the City of Hastings will hold a public hearing on June 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hastings City Hall to consider Ordinance Amendment changes to Chapter 110, Section 110.09:  Billiards and Pool; and Amendment changes to Chapter 34, Section 34.03 Civic Arena Fees.  A copy of these amendments is available at City Hall and at www.ci.hastings.mn.us. All interested persons should attend and are invited to comment.

2012 Bridge Inspection Completed
Highway 61 Hastings Bridge annual safety inspection has been completed. Drivers should not experience any delays due to lane closures now that the federally mandated inspection has finished. For updates on the construction of the new bridge, please visit Mn/DOT’s project website.
Public Hearing Notice

Property Maintenance Violation Enforcement to be Stepped Up
The City of Hastings is implementing a series of new processes and procedures to respond to property maintenance ordinances and code violations that impact community safety, livability, and property values. Notice of Filing for Ward Councilmember Seats
Filing for office will open on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 and remain open until Tuesday, June 5, 2012.  Filing for a ward City Councilmember office may be done at Hastings City Hall, 101 Fourth Street East between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Information about filing for office is available at City Hall or at www.ci.hastings.mn.us.
HPD Now Offers Online Police Reporting Services to Residents

Residents can make police reports for certain lower level offenses through the City’s Website.  For more information regarding this service, click here

Fire Hydrant Flushing

City Public Works and Fire Department staff will begin to flush the City’s water system starting the week of April 9th.  Please see the map showing the current status of the flushing activity, along with a more detailed announcement, for further information.  An article about flushing was also featured in the March 29th issue of the Hastings Star Gazette.

The City of Hastings is trying to make it as easy for you as possible to pay your Utility Bill online.  At the top of our main page is a section called “I want to….”.  From this pull-down menu select-- Pay my Utility Bill Online or click here to be directed to the Online Payment website.  Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted.

Salary Compliance Notice. Minnesota state law - section 471.701 - requires that "a city or county with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of its three highest-paid employees." This notice may be provided on the homepage of the primary web site maintained by the political subdivision for a period of not less than 90 consecutive days. For the City of Hastings, titles and base salaries for January 1, 2012 are: City Administrator: $124,991.78; Fire & EMS Director and Police Chief: $106,771.37.
