Seasonal
  The Hastings Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for full-time seasonal maintenance positions. Minimum age is 18 and must have valid driver's license. Wage is $9.13/hour. Duties include mowing, using trimmers, trash collection, field grooming and other general park maintenance. The position will work up to 40 hours per week: days, evenings, & some weekends. The period of employment will be Mid-April through mid-October. Hastings Family Aquatic Center is now accepting seasonal applications for Lifeguards, Guest Service Attendants, and Water Safety Instructors.  Application deadline is Friday, March 2, 2011.
Lifeguard: Must be 15 years old and have a current Lifeguard certification, including CPR-PR and First Aid.  Hours include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Guest Service Attendants: Must be 15 years old.  Hours include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Water Safety Instructor: Must be 16 years old. Water Safety Instructor certified desired, but can also train onsite.  Hours include days and evenings.

We are now accepting applications for seasonal employment at the Veterans Park Concession Stand. Applicants must be at least 15 years old. Hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting wage is $7.25/hour. Application deadline is Friday, March 2, 2011.

Police Department - Volunteer Service Opportunity
 

Police Fleet Support Volunteer:

The Police Fleet Support Volunteer will assist the department by providing shuttle services of both marked and unmarked police vehicles requiring regular maintenance. Police Fleet Support Volunteers will also be trained to inspect and monitor supplies and equipment routinely carried in police department vehicles. The Police Fleet Support Volunteer position is primarily a day time function and should not exceed four hours per week depending upon the number of interested volunteers.

Requirements: Police Fleet Support Volunteers must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license and clean driving record. Due to the nature and type of the equipment Police Fleet Support Volunteers have access to, a criminal history review and standard police volunteer background investigation is required.

Office Support Volunteer:
The Office Support Volunteer will assist the department by providing a range of office support functions, which may include: Weekly supply inventory, filing, data entry, phone answering, standardized letter preparation and mailing, etc. The Office Support Volunteer position is a daytime function and will not exceed four hours per week.

Requirements: Office Support Volunteers should have at least minimal keyboarding/computer skills. Office Support Volunteers must undergo a basic background investigation in accordance with Minnesota rules.
