Eligibility to Vote
You are eligible to vote in Minnesota if you are...
At least 18 years or older;
A citizen of the United States; and
A resident of Minnesota for 20 days immediately preceding Election Day
Has it been more than 4 years since you last voted? Have you moved since you last voted? Has your name changed since you last voted? These are all examples of why you may need to re-register to vote. Minnesota state law allows eligible residents to register to vote on Election Day, but registering saves you time at the polls. If you are uncertain whether you are a registered voter, contact Dakota County Treasurer/Auditor or Minnesota Secretary of State for assistance.
2010 Polling Location
Residents may vote at one location for a school election, and a different place for a City election.
If you are uncertain which ward you live in, check the Secretary of State’s precinct finder (http://pollfinder.sos.state.mn.us/ ) or call Hastings City Hall for assistance.
