Hastings Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is made up of two departments, Engineering and Public Works Maintenance.  The Engineering Department is located at City Hall, and is responsible for designing and managing street and utility reconstruction projects, review of new development street and utility construction, erosion control inspections, issuing permits for construction within the street right of way and easements, infrastructure mapping and record keeping.  The Public Works Maintenance Department is located at the Cal Ruedy Public Works Building at 1225 Progress Drive.  Public Works Maintenance is responsible for operating and maintaining the City’s infrastructure, including streets, storm sewer, ponding basins, decorative street lighting, street signage and pavement markings, water system, wastewater system, and the City’s hydroelectric facility located at Lock and Dam #2.
