TRAC is an intra-city bus service that provides Transportation Around the City.  With service starting in 1978, TRAC has almost thirty years of helping to provide transportation throughout the City of Hastings.  Operation of TRAC is supported through rider fees and state and federal grant money.

When Can I Ride?  TRAC operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The City has four buses to provide service, and between two to three buses are in operation during regular hours. 

What Kind of Service Does TRAC Provide?  TRAC operates as a wheelchair accessible Dial-A-Ride/Subscription transportation service, which means that service is provided on a demand responsive basis and can accommodate persons in wheelchairs.  We do not run regular bus routes; instead, we provide transportation by responding to requests on a first-come, first-served basis.  Riders can schedule one of two types of pick-up and drop-off: subscription and dial-a-ride.

Subscription:   The bus will stop by your doorstep for pick-up at the same time/day of week that has been pre-scheduled.  This is a convenient option for residents who use TRAC to get to and from work or for those who have regularly scheduled appointments.

Dial-A-Ride:    The rider calls for individualized pick-ups and drop-offs that vary day-to-day.  Many riders use the dial-a-ride to provide transportation for running errands and other infrequent trips.  For Dial-A-Ride service, riders are encouraged to call at least one day in advance to reserve a time.
