Fill out a Certificate of Approval application with a description of the proposed work and submit it and the necessary pictures, plans, drawings, etc. to the HPC staff at City Hall, 101 4th Street East, Hastings.

The application deadline is on the second Tuesday of each month.
Attend the HPC meeting. Applications submitted on time will be reviewed by the HPC at their monthly meeting.
A few types of repairs, including roofing, can be approved by HPC staff within a couple days, without having to wait for the next meeting.
Applicants are not required to attend the meeting, but if no one is there to answer questions that arise, the HPC may table the application to a later date.
