Hastings Mayor

Mayor HicksMayor Paul Hicks was born and raised in Hastings. He is a 1978 graduate of Hastings High School and graduated from Hamline University in 1982 with a B.A. in Political Science.

Mayor Hicks has volunteered for many organizations including the Hastings Jaycees, Urban Concerns Inc., S.O.A.R., Hastings Alumni Association and Hastings Access Television Corporation. In 1997, he was selected as one of Ten Outstanding Young Minnesotans by the Minnesota Jaycees.
 
He is employed by the Minnesota House of Representatives where he works as an Assistant Supervisor in the Office of the Chief Clerk.

Mayor Hicks served as Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission for six years prior to being elected as an at-large member to the Hastings City Council in 1990. He was re-elected in 1994, 1998 and 2002. He was elected Mayor of Hastings in 2006.

Mayor Hicks does not keep office hours at Hastings City Hall, but he does have a phone at City Hall where residents can leave voicemails (480-2365).  Email mayorhicks@ci.hastings.mn.us.
