Memorial Bench & Tree Program

Through the City’s Memorial Bench & Tree Program, relatives can provide a unique dedication to loved ones by placing a tree or bench in one of Hastings’ parks or along a city trail. This dedication provides a lasting remembrance in honor of a loved one and enhances the meaning of a tree or bench to observers. The gift is also a valuable contribution to the park system to be used and enjoyed by all.

How the Program works:

• Download the program brochure which includes more program details and fees.
• Fill out the form and send along with payment to the City of Hastings. (Contributions are tax deductible.)
• Designate the park in which you would like the bench or tree(s) placed. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request, although some parks may not be possible.
• Parks and Recreation Department staff will determine the actual location for your memorial. If you do not have a specific park in mind, the City will place your memorial where it is most needed and appreciated.

Donations to the Parks & Recreation Department

The City of Hastings and the Parks & Recreation Department periodically receives requests from citizens to make a donation. You may wish to honor family members, friends, or civic leaders or simply make a donation of equipment, trees, or a monetary contribution to the Parks & Recreation Department.
