The Hastings Police Department and Hastings Fire Department work in a cooperative effort to provide emergency management services to the community. Emergency management deals with critical incident situations such as natural disasters; tornado, severe storms, flooding, and other disaster type events such as plane crash, train derailment, etc. Through the generous contributions of Hastings citizens to the Hastings United Way an emergency disaster trailer was purchased for use in these disasters as a command post holding equipment needed in these events.
