Police Explorer Post

The Hastings Police Department offers a youth Police Explorer program for young people between the ages of 14 and 20 who are interested in learning about the career of law enforcement. The Explorer program is coordinated and run in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America.

Hastings Police Explorers meet three times a month (September to June) to learn about the law enforcement program through hands-on participation and training. They work with other neighboring posts, and in April of each year the Explorers participate in and compete against other posts at the MN Explorer Post Conference in Rochester, MN. Members of the Hastings Explorer Post also volunteer many hours to the community, assisting with community events such as Memorial Day, Rivertown Days, National Night Out, and Kid's Safe Program.

The success of the unit is a tribute to the hard work and effort put forth by the young people in the unit under the direction of Officer Murr, Officer Bauer, and Officer Linscheid, of the Hastings Police Department. If you are interested in learning more or possibly becoming a Police Explorer please contact Officer Murr, Officer Linscheid, or Officer Bauer by calling the Hastings Police Dept. at 651-480-2300.
