Does the City of Hastings hold clean up events for residents?
The City of Hastings generally holds an annual Spring Clean Up the last Saturday in April. Materials accepted at this event include appliances, construction debris, furniture, carpet, tires, scrap iron, electronics, and household hazardous waste. Collection of general household items is limited to Hastings’ residents living within city limits. Household hazardous waste and electronics are accepted from all Dakota County residents. Proof of residency will be required.

I am a business owner… where can I recycle and properly dispose of hazardous waste?
The Recycling Zone offers special programs for business owners. Please visit their website for more information. There are also resources available for reusing and reducing waste.

Where can I get rid of household appliances?
Hastings residents can contact Waste Management at (651) 437-9201 or another appliance recycler for disposal of major appliances (air conditioners, refrigerators, microwaves, water heaters, etc.) Small appliances (coffee pots, toasters, blow dryers, etc.) can be donated if still in good condition or placed in the garbage.
